Senior Reporter / Editor - Private Markets
Lead the conversation in the world’s most dynamic investment sector as our Private Markets Editor.
Salary: $95,000 - $110,000 per annum
We're looking for a talented and ambitious Senior Reporter or Editor to join our editorial team and help lead our coverage of the rapidly evolving Private Markets sector. Private markets are an increasingly significant part of the global investment landscape, and this high-impact role will be responsible for driving, deepening, and shaping our reporting in this key area.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead coverage, break important stories, and deliver in-depth analysis on private market trends and their impact on the global asset management industry.
We will consider Senior Reporters we can develop into an Editor over time.
What you’ll be doing:
Drive original, engaging stories and daily news that are essential reading for the investment community.
Execute a strategy for covering key developments in private markets, including fund launches, closings, redemption requests, valuations, and market sentiment.
Build and maintain deep relationships with fund managers, wealth managers and other key figures to secure exclusive stories and industry-leading insights.
Produce agenda-setting features, interviews, and analysis that leverage data to inform readers.
Collaborate with the wider editorial team to ensure cohesive reporting and assist in refining content to ensure high quality across digital platforms.
Build toward presenting videos, podcasts and in-person events as part of the role over time.
Thoroughly research stories, including traveling when appropriate, to gain the inside track on the industry.
What we’re looking for:
Journalism Experience: You have proven experience in financial or business journalism, with the ability to report on complex topics with clarity. Knowledge of private markets is preferred.
Writing Excellence: You possess a strong ability to produce clean, accurate, and insightful copy at a fast pace.
Editorial Skills: Experience or willingness to take on editorial responsibilities, refining content and ensuring quality standards.
Relationship Building: Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to develop and grow reliable industry contacts.
Industry Knowledge: You bring an understanding of the investment landscape or a strong willingness to learn the private markets sector quickly.
Proactive Mindset: A self-starter and news hound who is curious, enterprising, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
